A few hundred people gathered outside the Iranian embassy on Metcalfe Street on Thursday calling for justice for the people of their homeland.

It’s the fifth anniversary of the student uprising in Iran. One of the protest organizers says that's when thousands were arrested and some executed during a peaceful protest of the Islamic regime.

The Committee for Defence of Human Rights in Iran is the group that is behind the protest in Ottawa, but there are similar ones happening around the world.
