Ottawa demands access to Kazemi trial: report

Days before the murder trial of Montreal photojournalist Zahra Kazemi is set to resume, the Iranian government has yet to declare Canadian observers welcome at the proceedings.

With the trial slated to get underway in Tehran on Saturday, Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham says he assumes that means Canadians won't be allowed in the court.

In a letter from Graham to his Iranian counterpart Foreign Affairs Minister Kammal Kharrazi, the minister underscores the additional strain such an arrangement would bring.
